Bomber Soccer teams compete

The Mountain Home High School girls’ soccer team had a successful night Thursday on the home turf. The Lady Bombers picked up another conference win by shutting out Van Buren 2-0.

Lily Henson scored a goal and dished out an assist for the other goal scored by Kenzie Hatman. Haven Klinger recorded four saves, and Mountain Home’s defense forced 62 turnovers.

The Mountain Home High School soccer teams had mixed results Tuesday playing a pair of conference matches at Vilonia.

The Bomber boys were able to shut out the Eagles 6-0. Gage Slaughter led Mountain Home with two goals and an assist, James Douglas scored a goal and dished out two assists, Luke Henson and William Bevel each had a goal and an assist, Chris Matusiak added a goal, and Luke Darracq added five saves.

The girls’ match had a different result, as the Lady Bombers ended up in a 1-1 tie with Vilonia. Mountain Home’s only goal was scored by Lily Henson. Kenzie Hatman and Olivia Weber each had four takeaways, and Haven Klinger recorded five saves.
