2 MHHS volleyball players sign to Central Baptist

Just over a month after a pair of Mountain Home High School soccer players signed to continue as teammates at the collegiate level, the same can now be said for the volleyball program. Seniors Kylee Sabella and Riley Straka signed national letters of intent on Wednesday with Central Baptist College in Conway.

Sabella and Straka have both lettered every year at the varsity level, and both finished with All-Conference honors. Sabella was also named an Offensive Co-Player of the Year and an All-State selection with 184 kills, 28 aces, 25 blocks, and 200 digs. Straka ended up with 125 digs and 25 aces.

Sabella says she is looking forward to becoming a Mustang, and having Straka by her side will be a bonus to the experience.

Straka’s recruitment to CBC started when head coach Stephanie Irwin went to see Sabella in action, as the Lady Bombers were playing at Greenbrier.

Kylee Sabella is the daughter of Jay Sabella and Lori Chaney of Mountain Home. Riley Straka is the daughter of William and Joanna Straka of Mountain Home.
